Sunday Sankalpa: Intention, Yoga & Embodiment with Mishiah
Sunday Sankalpa is a 2-hour workshop-style yoga class designed to help you set and embody your weekly intentions. Each session blends somatic movement, intentional hatha yoga, card pulling, journaling, yoga nidra, and guided integration. This is your Sunday ritual to reset, recharge, and align with your deepest truth before stepping into the week ahead.
Begin your week with clarity, alignment, and purpose.
Eevery Sunday morning at Evolve in West Ashley. The Sanskrit word Sankalpa is often translated as “intention,” but its meaning is layered. It can be understood as:
+ A heartfelt vow, a commitment aligned with your deepest truth.
+ A seed of resolve planted in the fertile ground of the mind.
+ In yoga nidra, a powerful statement made in the receptive state between waking and sleep, where subconscious patterns can be rewritten.
This class is designed to help you not only set intentions, but also embody them through practice, so they live in your body, breath, and daily choices.
What to expect.
+ Somatic movement & kriyas (15 min): Gentle, energizing movement to get the blood flowing and awaken the nervous system.
+ Card pulling & journaling (20 min): Spark instiration by drawing from tarot, angel, etc.. decks (feel free to bring your own). Then space to journal and the option to speak your intention aloud, this becomes a ritual of self-honoring and shared witness.
+ Embodied hatha yoga practice (40 min): Connecting to the senses and live in all corners of the body through grounded, intentional sequencing. Expect a practice that builds strength, stability, and presence while honoring the pleasure of embodiment. Hands on assists offered (always OK to opt out)
+ Yoga Nidra (25 min): A guided practice of “yogic sleep” where the body rests deeply while the mind hovers in a state between wakefulness and dream. In this receptive state, sankalpa is planted in the subconscious, allowing intention to take root beyond the surface of the mind.
+ Integration journaling (20 min): To close, you’ll be guided into reflection, clarifying insights and anchoring your sankalpa so it carries with you into the week ahead.
This rhythm of movement, rest, reflection, and ritual is the perfect way to install intention into your weekly routine.
Your sankalpa becomes more than words, it becomes lived embodiment.
